THE ROLE
Are you an ambitious and proactive individual looking to grow your career in project management? We’re seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the successful planning and delivery of complex engineering projects across the defence and nuclear sectors.
In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers to assist in the operational and commercial execution of projects, from pre-contract stages through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic technical environment while contributing to high-impact projects with national significance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Project Managers in planning, monitoring, and reporting project progress
- Help manage the quality process in line with the Project Quality Plan
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Assist in tracking project costs, identifying variances, and providing reports
- Contribute to identifying risks, opportunities, and developing mitigation strategies
- Monitor programme milestones and assist with delay mitigation measures
- Support contractual correspondence, change management, and record keeping
- Liaise with third parties and external stakeholders as required
- Ensure all aspects of the project delivery process are followed, maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
- Awareness of NEC3/NEC4 contracts
- Understanding of project management principles, including planning, risk, cost control, and quality
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
- Currently studying for, or holding, certifications such as Prince2, PMP, or APM
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Able to learn new techniques and problem-solve effectively
