Hythe Engineering welcomes Stuart Harrison as Business Development Director
Hythe Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Harrison as Business Development Director. Stuart joins to lead the company’s business development as it grows, bringing more than three decades of experience across the nuclear, energy and defence sectors.
Stuart is well known to Managing Director Alex Moore, who has worked with him for a number of years and brought him in to lead Hythe’s growth. His appointment is part of a deliberate move to strengthen the senior team with experienced people as the company expands its work with prime contractors and engineering partners.
Across nearly 35 years, Stuart has worked with clients in defence and with major engineering design houses. For the past 20 years he has held Business Development Director roles, growing engineering businesses that ranged from an apprenticeship provider and nuclear control-room simulation to electrical, control and instrumentation. He also spent time at the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC) in Rotherham.
“I have worked with Stuart for a number of years, so I know exactly what he brings,” said Alex Moore, Managing Director of Hythe Engineering. “He understands the nuclear, energy and defence markets we work in, and he has a real talent for growing engineering businesses. Bringing him in to lead our business development is something I have wanted for a while, and I am really pleased he has joined us.”
In his new role
As Business Development Director, Stuart will be responsible for:
- Leading business development across the defence, nuclear and energy sectors.
- Building relationships with prime contractors and engineering partners.
- Finding new work that fits Hythe’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities.
- Supporting the continued growth of the business.
