Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week 
Location: Fareham 

We are looking for an experienced Stores Supervisor with a passion for efficiency and leadership to join our team in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores department. Responsible for the organisation and optimisation of the stores department within a fast-paced ship repair environment, this role includes ensuring the availability of critical materials and aligning stores with organisational objectives. You will be the main interface between stores and stores management helping us drive cost efficiencies and maintain high standards of safety, quality and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be involved in the supervision of stores personnel and monitor inventory systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely availability of materials
  • Analyse inventory trends and operational requirements to forecast future material needs
  • Contribute to and implement policies and procedures for inventory management, and disposal of obsolete or damaged stock
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially in handling hazardous materials
  • Report on inventory performance and departmental efficiency to the Stores Manager
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in systems and processes to enhance overall efficiency and reduce downtime

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in stores or inventory management, ideally within the ship repair, maritime, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, and materials handling best practices
  • Familiarity with maritime industry materials and components (preferred)
  • Advanced understanding of safety regulations and environmental standards
