We are seeking a motivated and experienced IT Technician to join our team and take a leading role in maintaining and advancing our IT infrastructure.

In this critical position, you will drive value across the company by supporting in all IT-related operations and contributing to our ongoing growth.

Reporting into the IT Manager, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment within a company dedicated to excellence and innovation. Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide support to all users across the organisation by logging all incidents and service requests accurately and resolving them in a timely manner. 
  • Support all company-owned technology, including desktops, laptops, printers, software, and mobile devices. 
  • Set up new starters and issue IT equipment. 
  • Triage incidents and support requests, escalating them to the appropriate third-party support function, and oversee resolution while keeping internal staff updated. 
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on IT systems and software, translating technical information into easily understood language. 
  • Install, test, and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications. 
  • Maintain general tidiness of the workplace in the interests of health and safety. 
  • Promote IT best practices and security awareness. 
  • Maintain asset registers for all IT assets, including telecoms, enabling effective tracking. 
  • Manage returns of IT equipment and IT asset disposals. 
  • Provide IT support on projects and office/desk moves. 
  • Offer IT support for internal or external events, including setting up and testing equipment. 
  • Support the IT Manager as required. 
  • Work in alignment with our culture and values. 

Desirable Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Aptitude for IT. 
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills. 
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office. 
  • Proven experience in an IT support role, with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience using web-based systems. 

Requirements

Please note that roles at Hythe Engineering require security clearance. Successful candidates must obtain security clearance for the position.

Standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with a half-hour unpaid lunch break.
